AccHelp v2.01 21st Feb 2006 Installation Instructions Having downloaded or unzipped the file accinst.exe to a directory/folder of your choice. Run the executable file accinst.exe. This will expand the following files:- acchelp.mde The AccHelp Access add-in. acchelp.hlp AccHelp Help. acchelp.cnt AccHelp Help contents. It also creates entries in Start|Programs. a link on the Desktop (which you can delete) and a basic entry in the Windows Registry. Now start Access and open any database. On the main Access Menu bar go to Tools|Add-Ins|Add-In Manager and click Add New on the Add-In Manager dialog window. A file browse window will open. Navigate to the directory containing AccHelp.mde select it and click Open. Access will copy AccHelp.mde to the MS Add Ins folder and install it. Make a note of the folder Access uses for its add-ins, you'll need it to tidy up after Uninstalling. This folder varies from Windows version to Windows version and user to user and I haven't yet found a way to install directly to it. UnInstall AccHelp Open the Add-In Manager as above, select AccHelp and click Uninstall. Close Access down completely before going any further. Now use Windows Explorer to navigate to the Add-Ins folder noted above and delete the file AccHelp.mde. Close windows explorer. Now use the AccHelp Uninstall in Start|Programs|AccHelp.
